Amid devastating wildfires, Selena Gomez postpones 'Rare' LA pop-up event

Interscope

Selena Gomez had planned to mark the fifth anniversary of her last full-length studio album, Rare, with a special pop-up in LA on Friday, but has now postponed those plans in light of the deadly wildfires spreading through the city.

A message on her Rare Beauty brand's Instagram Story reads, "We are devastated to see the impact the wildfires continue to have on our community in Los Angeles. The safety and well-being of our team and community are top priorities, and with that in mind, we have decided to postpone Rare: The Pop-Up ... we'll share more details and rescheduled dates for the event soon."

The brand also posted links to emergency resources for those affected by the fires.

The pop-up was set to run Jan. 10 through Jan. 12 and was to have featured exclusive merchandise.

Rare, released Jan. 10, 2020, featured Selena's first U.S. #1 single, "Lose You to Love Me," as well as "Look at Her Now" and "Dance Again."
