Dania Beach Students Craft Valentines to Honor Local Veterans

Students at Dania Beach Elementary School are spreading Valentine’s Day cheer in a heartfelt way. On Friday morning, they crafted colorful Valentine’s Day cards as part of an annual tradition organized by U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

The congresswoman reminded the students of the impact their simple gesture could have. “You wouldn’t necessarily think that giving a Valentine’s Day card to someone you don’t know, and that you may not even meet, would brighten their day or their lives,” Wasserman Schultz explained. “But I told them, ‘You should see the smiles and joy that is on the faces of the veterans.’”

The cards, filled with sweet messages and drawings, will be delivered to veterans at the Miami VA Hospital on Valentine’s Day. A few lucky students will even join Wasserman Schultz in handing out the heartfelt tokens of appreciation in person.

This annual event is a reminder of the power of kindness and the importance of showing gratitude to those who have served. With their creative and compassionate efforts, these young students are proving that small acts of love can make a big difference.
