Frankie’s Pizza Turns 70: A Slice of Miami History

If you’ve lived in Miami, chances are you’ve tasted the iconic crunchy, cheesy squares from Frankie’s Pizza. This beloved Bird Road spot, located at 9118 Southwest 40th Street, has been a South Florida staple since 1955—and this Valentine’s Day, it’s turning 70!

Frankie’s is more than just a pizza shop; it’s a slice of Miami history. Opened by Frank and Doreen Pasquarella after their honeymoon in 1954, Frankie’s has been family-run for generations. Roxanne Pasquarella, one of their daughters, proudly calls the shop her father’s “first child.” Fun fact: the original pans from 1955 are still in use!

To celebrate seven decades of deliciousness, Frankie’s is throwing a party on February 14 from 6 to 11 p.m. Expect classic cars, drinks, and, of course, plenty of pizza.

Miami historian Cesar Becerra is also commemorating the milestone with a new edition of his book, Frankie’s Pizza: A 70 Year Love Affair.

For nostalgia lovers, this isn’t just a pizza party—it’s a celebration of Westchester’s rich history. Don’t miss it, and if you can’t make it, Frankie’s ships pies nationwide via GoldBelly.

Cheers to 70 years of Frankie’s!
