New year, new goals! “Exercising more” and “losing weight” are topping the resolution charts once again. But have you ever considered how your city plays a role in keeping you on track? WalletHub’s 2025 report on the Best & Worst Cities for an Active Lifestyle shows us which spots are setting residents up for success—and which could use some serious improvement.

- Miami landed at #30 with a solid active lifestyle score of 47.85. It’s home to plenty of fitness centers (ranked #4 per capita!) and lots of opportunities to stay active.

- Orlando shined a little brighter, coming in at #27 and ranking #2 for fitness centers per capita. Tampa also outperformed Miami at #22.

- Hialeah, though, unfortunately ranked #95, making it one of the worst cities for staying active. It has the fewest playgrounds per capita and the highest percentage of physically inactive adults.

Cities like Denver, Las Vegas, and New York—packed with trainers, bike-friendly streets, and playgrounds—top the list. Meanwhile, no Florida city broke into the top 20, which shows there’s room for improvement statewide.
