The Miami Parking Authority is removing QR codes from over 7,000 parking signs to protect you from scammers. Thieves have been placing fake QR code stickers on parking meters, tricking users into visiting fraudulent websites to steal their banking information.

If you see a QR code on a parking sign, it’s fake. The city urges drivers to use the trusted Pay by Phone app for secure parking payments.

This scam isn’t just limited to Miami—it’s also happening in Fort Lauderdale, so stay vigilant wherever you park.

If you spot a suspicious QR code, report it immediately by calling the Miami Parking Authority’s 24-hour hotline at 305-579-4900.
