Pompano Beach Celebrates Water Taxi Expansion with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Pompano Beach officially launched its partnership with the Water Taxi of Fort Lauderdale during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday at Dockswell Dock. This marks the expansion of water taxi services into Pompano Beach, connecting locals and tourists to destinations from Lighthouse Point to Hollywood.

“This has taken a lot of planning and preparation,” said Pompano Beach Mayor Rex Hardin. “This expansion is a game changer for locals to get around.”

The service offers 128 daily stops, creating a convenient and scenic way to explore South Florida. “Whether it’s parks, restaurants, hotels, or the beach, we’re focused on providing an amazing guest experience,” said Bill Walker, CEO of Water Taxi of Fort Lauderdale.

The Pompano Beach Water Taxi operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., nearly year-round, and offers flexible ticket options, including all-day passes for $30 and annual passes for residents at $250.

“It’s a fantastic way for people without boats to enjoy the water and embrace the South Florida lifestyle,” said Mayor Hardin.

With this expansion, the water taxi service provides an affordable and fun way to travel, making South Florida more accessible to everyone.
