In a recent and unsettling announcement, Vornado has recalled approximately 7,780 VH2 Whole Room Heaters due to serious safety concerns. Issued on January 16, the recall is prompted by a dangerous flaw where the power cord can partially detach from the heater’s enclosure. This defect can lead to cord damage, creating risks of electric shock and fire hazards.
These heaters, sold exclusively on Amazon between August and October 2024 for around $90, carry a “JUL24″ or “AUG24″ date code along with “TYPE VH2″ printed on the silver rating label located on the underside.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission advises consumers to stop using these units immediately and to reach out to Vornado for instructions on receiving a free replacement heater. Thankfully, no injuries or incidents have been reported yet. Don’t wait—check your heater now to ensure your safety this winter!
