Your Electric Bill Will Increase Starting in January

FPL customers, brace yourselves for higher electricity costs in the new year. The Florida Public Service Commission has approved a $1.2 billion storm recovery package for Florida Power & Light (FPL). This funding will cover costs from Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton, while replenishing FPL’s storm reserve fund.

While this ensures financial stability for future storms, it means an increase for consumers. Starting in January, the average monthly electricity bill will climb by approximately $12. Prepare for the impact as 2024 brings changes to your energy expenses.
